Paynesville, Victoria

I seem to have been so busy lately that I havent posted anything about our weekend away in Paynesville.  It’s about a 3 and a half hour drive away from Melbourne and well worth a trip. It’s not as well recognised as it’s big sister Lakes Entrance that’s only a short drive away. We stayed at Mariner’s Cove where we managed to get a two storey apartment to comfortably fit us four and the in-laws.

Every room overlooks the Marina and ours even had a view of the Esplanade.

And you’ll notice the ferry all lit up. That goes to Raymond Island where there are loads of wild koalas to spot. Now, given the size of the ferry I had assumed the island would be a fair distance away. How wrong I was, let’s just say we have a ladder in our garage that I am sure could have straddled the water. Really, it’s so close the ferry is on a chain. No really, it is!

Mariner’s Cover have their own large mooring and you can hire their boats. It would be rude not to. When in Rome and all that…
