We have been looking our for a dog for a while now and on Saturday we went to see a 5 year old long haired german shepherd called Tia. She had been returned to her breeders as the couple who had owned her from a puppy had to move away and couldn’t take her with them. We’d tried to not let the kids get too excited in case she wasn’t good with kids. We arrived at the breeders and they brought her out. Straight away, she brought us a ball to throw for her with and played happily with the kids. Matt and I looked at each other and didn’t need to say anything to each other. There was no way we were going home without her.
The breeders show their german shepherds and also have kennels. They were lovely people and made sure we knew how to care for her. They were happy that we’d already own a long haired GSD and knew just how much work their coats are. It’s great to see breeders who really care about their dogs, even five years after they initially sold her.
The kids think it’s Christmas. They’ve been desperate for a dog since we left England and parted with our beautiful Molly. Secretly, I have too. She’s settled straight into our house as if she has always been ours. Our little family of four instantly became five.
Oh and those paws? Yes, they are way too big for her. They are the same size and my hand! Ridiculous!
